SBOA Sports Academy Wraps Up Summer Camp with Tinu Yohannan on 20th April 2024!

The SBOA Sports Academy concluded its summer sports camp with an inspiring valedictory function. Former Indian cricketer Tinu Yohannan interacted with the young athletes, sharing valuable insights and emphasizing the importance of passion and dedication in sports. Correspondent Shri Paul D Prabhakar, SBOA Public (Sr. Sec.) School, Ernakulam presided over the event. The event celebrated the progress of participants and awarded prizes to outstanding performers. SBOA Sports Academy continues to nurture talent and instill values of sportsmanship in its students.

SBOA SUMMER SPORTS CAMP 2023-24

On April 1st 2024, Principal Sreekala Karunakaran inaugurated the summer camp at SBOA Public Sr. Sec School. The camp, which ran from April 1st to 20th, offered coaching in basketball, cricket, kabaddi, kayaking, and football by renowned and skilled coaches.

SBOA SPORTS ACADEMY INAUGRATION

The inauguration of the  SBOA Sports Academy signifies the commencement of a promising journey dedicated to nurturing sports talent in football, kabaddi, and kayaking. Renowned international footballer Shri FerozSherifinaugurated the ceremonyaddressing the students with an inspiring speech. The launch ceremony featured a keynote address by Shri Paul D Prabhakar, School Correspondent of SBIOA Educational Trust Chennai, and a warm welcome by Principal Smt. SreekalaKarunakaran. PT A President Shri Premkumar extended felicitations to the attendees.

The formal proceedings were highlighted by a friendly match between two school teams in Kabaddi and Football.As the academy sets its sights on producing champions and successful teams, plans are already underway to enhance sports facilities. A new Kabaddi mat will soon be installed, catering to the enthusiasm of Kabaddi enthusiasts and further enriching the sporting experience at the academy.

RETIREMENT CEREMONY

The students of SBOA bid farewell to our retiring staff, Mrs. Anjana Balraj, Mr. S Amithan, Mr. Rajeev and Mr. Anilkumar on the 13th of March 2024. The little ones talked of the beautiful memories they’d created and shared their experiences. The retiring staff was presented with a citation, after which they shared their memories.

WOMEN'S DAY

At the school’s Women’s Day celebration, we honoured women’s achievements and contributions. The chief guest Captain R Thangam ANO, Aster Medcity delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the importance of gender equality and empowerment. As a gesture of appreciation, SBIOA management presented the staff with a thoughtful gift symbolizing recognition and support for women.

FURRY FIESTA (PETS SHOW)

The pet show ‘Furry Fiesta’ held on 29th February 2024 at the school, by the students of grades 1 to 5, showcased a delightful array of pets. From fluffy rabbits to chirpy birds, the event fostered a sense of responsibility and joy among the young participants. Students shared interesting facts about their pets, creating a lively and educational atmosphere. The event successfully promoted a love for animals and encouraged a sense of community among the students.

BLESSING CEREMONY

On the gracious occasion of the inauguration of SBOA’s Ruby Jubilee Hall, the Blessings Ceremony was organised for the students of Std X and XII who were preparing for their board exams. The teachers showered their blessings on the students and motivated them to put in their best of efforts. This was accompanied by the Senior captains of Std XII handing over their badges to the Assistant Captains of Std XI, who shouldered it with a sense of responsibility and swore to fulfill their duties diligently.

INTERACTORS VISTED AN OLD AGE HOME

Visiting an old age home was a transformative experience that shattered the preconceived notions and deepened our understanding of life. The elderly residents taught us that age is not a barrier to joy, wisdom, or the ability to love.  Students collected nearly 200 kg to donate it to them. they spent some time interacting with the residents and listening to their stories. They shared their experiences, both happy and sad, and it was humbling to hear them. Some of our students performed various activities like song , dance to entertain them

RUBY YEAR ANNUAL DAY

Shri Loknath Bahra IPS, Managing Director of Kochi Metro was the Chief guest at the annual day celebration “Manikyavarsham” held on 10th January 2024 evening. Mr Mark Antony, the famous instagram Influencer was the celebrity guest. Dr. Ambili Sivadas, Alumni also graced the guest status.

SBOA Public Senior Secondary School turns forty. International football player and retired Superintendent of Police Shri K P Chacko was the special guest at the annual sports meet held on 10th January 2024 morning. Prizes were awarded to those who performed well in the field of sports.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION

Christmas is the season of love, harmony, and spreading awareness .It is the festival of joy and happiness. We the family of S.B.O.A celebrated Christmas on 22/12/2023. We had a cute little child artist Aabha .M Raphael as our chief guest. Programme started with a prayer dance followed by the welcoming address by Agna Babu ( School President ).Next the Christmas message was delivered by our Principal .Aabha. M. Raphael wished our children by introducing herself .After that we started our cultural programmes. First we had the Nativity play ,then the Angel dance ,Carol song, Christmas dance, Christmas wish was given in different languages. Santas entry after this was so adorable that children enjoyed it well. Lucky ones were taken from the lot. Each students from class 1 to 12 were given surprise gifts!

MATHS WEEK

Maths week was conducted from 5th of December . Students showcased their creativity by participating in skits that highlighted the practical application of maths in real life. An exhilarating quiz competition engaged students in a friendly intellectual challenge .Dance performance on BODMAS rule adds creativity to the learning experience. Additionally integrating Bharathanatyam steps to explore different types of angles enhances the interdisciplinary approach making mathematical concepts more accessible and enjoyable for participants. Overall Maths week successfully blended entertainment with education, fostering a positive attitude towards mathematics and highlighting its importance in our daily lives.

'SNEHAMBARAM'
A GREEN DRIVE WITH A PURPOSE - TO SHARE AND CARE

“Snehambaram” to promote an eco-friendly way of caring and sharing .The project aimed to provide reusable quality clothes to the needy . Cochin corperation councillor representig vaduthala, Henry Austin , inagurated the programme by handing over two frocks to a little girl who had selected them with care in a St. Anothony’s church auditorium Vaduthala. Correspondent Paul D Prabahakar , Principal Sreekala Karunakaran , Headmistress Priya Menon, Assistant Headmistress Treasa T Biju and Eco- Club in-charge Reny Daniel organised the event.

INTERACT CLUB ACTIVITY

“Its not about giving , Its about the effort and love you put in that”  the interact club members of S.B.O.A public sr.sec school had got an opportunity to visit a ‘MATHRUSAKTHI’ girl orphanage. Visiting the girls’ orphanage was a humbling experience, emphasizing the importance of community support .

NCC ACTIVITY

Ten NCC Cadets from SBOA Public Sr Sec School undertook flying training at Naval base    , Kochi with Commanding officer, 3 Kerala Air SQN NCC , group captains Uday Ravi on 8 th December 2023.

INGENIOUS INNOVATORS EXPO

Ingenious Innovators’ Expo was organized as part of Ruby Year Celebrations.Shri.N S K Umesh IAS, the District Collector, handed over the prizes to the winners. The expo showcased the innovative ideas of students from different schools from the various parts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. SBOA Junior College, Chennai & amp; Nalanda Public School ,Thammanam which were adjudged the winners, shared the first prize of ₹30,000.Navy Children’s School, Kochi & SBOA International School, Mambakkam shared the second prize of ₹20,000. By nurturing young minds with the principles of innovation and creative thinking, the program aims to empower changemakers to explore solutions that solve real-life challenges. 

LANGUAGE WEEK

In connection with language week, programme was conducted on November 7th. One of the captivating performances by our little wonders of std I  to III. Activities of this nature stimulates the curiosity to learn and understand the rich history of all languages. For many of us this particular song reminisced  the days of Doordarshan and Akashwani which was the only source of entertainment in those days

KERALA PIRAVI

Kerala Piravi celebration was organised at SBOA Public Sr. Sec. School, South Chittoor. which also marked the beginning of the Language Week activities.The programmes presented were a visual treat showcasing the cultural essence of Kerala. The message of unity beyond caste, creed and religion was highlighted through the multicultural programmes. Principal Sreekala Karunakaran appreciated the children for conducting the Kerala Piravi programmes in a grand manner.

SCIENCE WEEK

“Science is fun. Science is curiosity. It is a process of investigating and posing questions”
Our School has celebrated science week from October 16th 2023 to October 20th 2023. The main objective of celebrating the week was to develop the scientific spirit among the students and to encourage them to adopt scientific methods as a way of life. The school campus buzzed with the message that science is a way of discovering what’s in the universe and how those things work today. The week-long celebration saw the enthusiastic participation of students in a wide range of activities such as presentation of interview with Dr S Somanath by ISRO chairman. A quiz on Chandrayaan 3 was also conducted by students. Day 2 started with a skit on deforestation which included a song. On the next day students were taken through different reactions in chemistry- Chemical Super heroes save a day a skit presented by Class 11 students. On day 4, the little nuggets from class 3,4 and 5 presented a dance on importance of trees in human life.

SOCIAL SCIENCE WEEK

On behalf of the Social Science Week on October 3rd, the whole school conducted a cleaning day, and std 1 – 3  performed the assembly where they spoke about cabinet ministers. Later in the evening, the best class was awarded with the best class award.
On the second day, class Xl conducted the assembly with the theme G 20 where they presented the highlights of G- 20 prolonging in current India. 
The next day Quiz was conducted by classes 6 and 7 on current affairs. Students actively participated in the quiz competition and won prizes which were later awarded to the winners. On the last day of the week classes 8, 9, 10, and 11 conducted an assembly along with a skit about cultural exchanges.

VISIT TO C-SiS

The science students of Std. VII, XI and XII were taken on a study tour to Centre for Science in Society   (C-SiS) at Cochin University, Kalamassery (CUSAT) as part of Science Week celebrations. It consisted of a plethora of events including interactive sessions with the officials and visits to various labs. The visit to a few of the labs including that of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths gave them a hands-on experience and made them realize how learning can be made interesting. Science Park was a breath-taking experience for the students where they experienced the theories and concepts one learn in Physics in real life. The IEEE Lab took them off for an expedition to Mars and gave them a basic knowledge of Rocket Science. They were enlightened about the various projects of ISRO at the ISRO Pavilion and got to learn a lot of India’s progress through the years. By the end of the day, every SBOAn who came out of the CUSAT gates realized what Science really is and how it should be explored. It gave the young minds an opportunity to think beyond their textbooks and to dive deep into the realms of science.

INTERACT CLUB ACTIVITY

On 3rd October, Interact club of S.B.O.A Public (Sr.Sec) school arranged an interactive session on the topic “IS MOBILE PHONE A FRIEND OR A FOE?” for the youngsters of class 6. The program was arranged under the leadership of our coordinator Mrs. Jayasree , the Interact club president Yahath George, secretary Serah Rose Sugil and  with the help of all the members of Interact club. During the program the students discussed with the interactors and shared their opinions. The students got to understand that mobile phone can be a great friend however, prolonged use of mobile phones can result in many mental and physical health issues. They also promised not to waste time on gadgets and use them judicially.

TEACHERS DAY

“Teachers can change lives with just the right mix of chalk and challenges.”

Teacher’s Day was celebrated with zeal and zest on September  5, 2023. The students of class 12 honoured the teachers in the special assembly.They took over the duties of the teachers in the forenoon session.  In the official Teacher’s Day celebration on September 11, Mrs. Geeta Warrier, retired teacher, Kendriya Vidyalaya was the chief guest. Principal Mrs.Sreekala Karunakaran welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Beena Jayakrishnan, teacher, Department of Mathematics received the Best Teacher of the Year Award and Mrs. Bindu Radhakrishnan, office staff, received the Award of Excellence from the chief guest. The programme ended with the teachers’ dance, songs and fun filled games. Thus, the entire celebration paved a new hope for teachers to rejoice the journey as a teacher.

 

ONAM CELEBRATION

 

We celebrated Onam with great fervour and grandeur. In the weeks leading up to the event, students and teachers worked tirelessly to prepare for the Onam celebration.         A massive pookalam adorned the school premises along with a ‘Theyyam’ backdrop that showcased the cultural heritage of Kerala. The celebrations kicked off with the tradition lamp lighting ceremony by our correspondent Shri Paul D Prabhakar. The heart of the celebration was the cultural performances by students which included onam skit, mudiyattam, mega thiruvathira, onapattu, vallam kali, pulikali etc. Competitions for Malayali manka and srimaan, uriyadi were also key hightlights of the day. The celebrations were concluded by the shinkari melam and dhol which made everyone dance to their beat. Payasam was also distributed. The Onam celebration was a memorable event and it provided an opportunity for students to learn about and appreciate the traditions of Kerala while fostering a sense of belonging and

inclusivity.

 As part of our outreach programme, our students got a chance to showcase their talents through the medium of radio in the programme “Vidarunna Mottukal” in the Club FM 103.5.

EXHIBITION

In connection with the celebration of the Ruby Year of our school, the school participated in an Exhibition held at the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Congregation in Elamkulam, Kadavanthra on the 6th August 2023 from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. During the event, a stall was put up showcasing various school events through an engaging PPT Presentation. Additionally, attendees were given a paper bag containing our school brochure, allowing them to learn more about the esteemed institution.

 
 

INGENIOUS INNOVATORS WORKSHOP

A one-day workshop on Ingenious Innovators was organized on the 5th of August 2023 under the aegis of  BIIC,from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. It had the participation of nearly 50 schools and 150 students from all across Kerala. Dr. Radhakrishnan E K, Director, BIIC, M G University was the Resource Person for the day. He focused on how students can be creative in their own way and how to find an innovative solution to a societal problem. The illuminating session was wound up by informing about the Ingenious Innovators Expo-2023, an exhibition cum competition which will be held in December and calls for innovative ideas by the students. 

 

FREEDOM FROM PLASTIC

The ‘Freedom from Plastic’ human chain event by SBOA in partnership with Cheranallore Panchayat and neighbouring schools was a key highlight of the day. The human chain, a visual representation of unity, stretched across the Cheranallore panchayat limits with students promoting the use of handmade cloth bags. A poignant moment during the event was the “Pledge for a Plastic-Free Future,” where participants took a solemn vow to minimize their plastic consumption and spread awareness.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

The spirit of patriotism and national pride resonated throughout the campus of SBOA Public (Sr. Sec.), Ekm as the students and staff came together to celebrate the 77th Independence Day of our beloved nation. The school grounds were adorned with decorations showcasing the national colours, and a feeling of anticipation filled the air. The ceremony kicked off with the flag hoisting by the chief guest Shri Sebastian Paul, ex MP in presence of correspondent Shr.i Paul D Prabhakar and principal Smt. Sreekala Karunakaran. The prize winners of Essay Writing Competition – Vision 2030, Rudra Raj of XI and Pragathi Hirawat of IX, were honoured by the Cheif Guest. Students presented patriotic songs, dances, and skits that depicted key moments from the struggle for independence. 

The Independence Day celebration at SBOA was a reflection of the school’s dedication to instilling values of patriotism, unity, and responsibility in the hearts of its students. 

HONOURING TRAFFIC POLICE WARDENS

Traffic police wardens who are working under the scorching heat of the sun were honoured under the auspices of Interact club of SBOA Public Sr Sec School, South Chittoor, Ernakulam. The club members also handed over a token of their love and appreciation to them by presenting them with gratitude cards, sapling, chocolate and juice. The purpose of this act was to create an awareness about traffic rules among the growing generation.

 
 

INTERACT CLUB INSTALLATION CEREMONY 2023-24

The installation ceremony of interact Club of SBOA Public school was held on July 19th 2023. The procession was led by the Sergeant at arms Jeffin and the members. After the prayer the outgoing president Reesha Regan declared the meeting open. The Chief Guest and Rotarians were welcome by Diya Mohammad, the outgoing Treasurer. Among the esteemed presence of Rotarians, the outgoing President Reesha Reegan exchanged her badge with Yahath George and installed her as the new President of Interact Club of SBOA. She then installed all the new members of the club.

The new President Yahath was honoured to give the acceptance speech, followed by the secretary of interact club Serah Rose sharing the upcoming plans. The outgoing secretary Dhanshika read the annual report with a PowerPoint presentation. The Principal Sreekala Kaunakran delivered her speech, where we got to know that the chief guest was an alumni of our school.  She also congratulated the new board and outgoing board. The immediate past president Reesha and immediate past secretary Dhanshika gave their Board members gifts as a token of gratitude and Sneha Shibu, the internal affairs director proposed the vote of thanks.
 
With this great start, the new interact club members swore themselves to many hours of selfless service  bring a great change.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2023-24

The senior and Junior School Council of SBOA Public Sr. Sec School was sworn in and assigned their respective duties in a solemn ceremony on July 12, 2023. The smartly dressed leaders received the sashes from the Chief Guest Shri. Thomas V Z, Sub Inspector of Police, Cheranellor. They received the badges from the senior leaders  who were relieved of their offices. The principal Sreekala Karunakaran, HM Priya Menon and AHM Treasa T Biju, the 4 house mistresses and the teachers of the sports department participated in the function. All the students and teachers cheered the new Student Council and they pledged to fulfill all responsibilities to the best of their abilities.

INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE

The International Day against Drug Abuse was commemorated at SBOA on the 26th of June 2023 to raise awareness about the threat posed by drugs on the society. Students of Std. X put up an excellent dance-drama highliting the real, hidden face of drugs and its influence on the society. It emphasised on how drugs can destroy families, rip them apart and be the reason for the destruction of the world. 
 
 

READING WEEK

As part of the Reading Week from 19th to the 23rd of June 2023, numerous activities were held to encourage reading. It started off with a special assembly consisting of a speech and a book review. Students was asked to bring their favorite story books to read in their classes during the first period. On the same day, an extempore competition was held for the students of Std VIII.
 
From the 20th to the 23rd of June, a category-based quiz was held for students from classes 4 to 12. Apart from this, Reading day posters designed by the students of Std 7and 8 were also displayed. A book drop with a small note on why they donated those books were collected, and the best write-ups were displayed.

ECA INAGURATION

 
SBOA Ernakulam is celebrating her 40th year in the field of education. To commemorate the occasion the cultural activities of the school was inaugurated on June 21 2023 in a glittering programme in the presence of renowned music composer Shri T.S. Radhakrishnan, PTA president Mr. Premkumar and principal Mrs. Sreekala Karunakaran.
The programme began with a prayerful rendition by the students of stds VI – VIII
Students of the KG department put up a beautiful welcome dance.
The language department and the English department put up a unique drama in English, Hindi and Malayalam from Malgudi days by R.K Narayan Swami wants to be beaten.
The Dance department put up an exhilarating performance by the girls of V to IX.
All the students of the school watched the programme and enjoyed every moment.
 
 

YOGA DAY

Yoga day was celebrated on June 21st (2023) for promoting health, well-being and peace. The Chief Guest of the occasion was Mrs. Jayasree Rajendran , a teacher at The Art of Living. Our Principal Mrs. Sreekala Karunakaran delivered the Presidential Address . The Welcome Speech was presented by School Captain Agna Babu. School Vice Captain Shreya Balan proposed the Vote of Thanks. Headmistress Mrs. Priya Menon and Assistant Head Mistress Mrs Treasa T Biju were also present.
Yoga posture competitions were held for  classes 1 to 5 ,6 to 8 and 9 to 12. The best yoga performers were awarded with trophies .
NCC cadets and Yoga Club students performed yoga Asanas and NCC cadets made yoga  day posters.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

 
The eco club activities for the year 2023 was inaugurated by our principal on June 5 th .The eco club members conducted a green quiz in the assembly. Anish of 8 std reflected on the various activities done by the eco club till date .Principal handed over a sapling to the senior most teacher ,Mrs Anjana Balraj which was planted in the herbal forest .
 
 

Interact club visit to tribal colony

Life Beyond the Hustle and Bustle On 24th February, our school’s Interact-Club members visited a tribal colony along with the teacher coordinator of Interact-Club Jayashree ma’am. We, the interactors, collected necessities such as soap, tooth brush, salt, sugar, mustard seeds…for 22 provision kits each of worth around 1000 rupees which we had planned to donate. Upon reaching there, we were welcomed with warm smiles to one of their houses where my fellow interactors took a session on ‘The Importance of Education’, after which the provision kits were distributed. 10 NCC cadets, Rejitha ma’am and Reni ma’am also accompanied us. Before leaving, our teachers encouraged the little kiddos to continue their schooling and we sang folk songs to mark the end of the visit.

39 th ANNUAL SPORTS MEET

The annual sports meet embodies the zeal, talent and spirit of sportsmanship of the students. Our school’s Annual Sports Meet was held on 21st January 2023. The event commenced with the arrival of highly distinguished Chief Guest Mr K J Manoj Lal, Indian Olympic athlete * Welcome speech was delivered by principal, Mrs Sreekala Karunakaran * The annual sports report was read by Sports Captain, Allen Ullas of class 12th . *The presidential address and key note was delivered by Dr R. Balaji, Secretary and Correspondent, S B I O A Educational Trust, Chennai. *Inaugural address and flag hosting was done by chief guest, Mr K J Manoj Lal Indian Olympic athlete. *Torch lighting was done by Mr Paul D Prabhakar Correspondent, S B O A Public Senior Secondary School Ernakulam. *Important sports Achievements are as follows. Alan Ullas of standard 12 won one silver medal in second national kickboxing championship held at Calcutta. Priyamani of standard 9 has won gold medal in track cycling championship held at Guwahati in Assam. A S Krishna of standard 9 has won a gold medal in four group Tul and and ITF national taekwondo championship held at Chennai Ethen Linto has won a silver medal in group Tul and ITF National taekwondo championship held at Chennai. Jayadev J Nair of standard 8 was selected to Kerala State under 14 Cricket Team and he is also the vice captain. *Oath was taken by Neha Kishore class 11th, Assistant Sports Captain. *Prizes were distributed by the Chief Guest. *March past,PT display, Karate ,kickboxing and yoga display was also conducted. *The inauguration of kayakers club was done by Dr R Balaji, Secretary and Correspondent, SBI Educational Trust, Chennai. *100 m race and 4 X 400 m relay race was conducted and prices were distributed. *Vote of thanks by Vaishnav Vipin of class 12th Vice sports captain. The event concluded with the flag retreat and National anthem.

39th Annual day NEELOTHPALAM 2023

SBOA Public (Sr. Sec.) school, Ernkulam celebrated their 39th Annual day NEELOTHPALAM 2023 on January 21, 2023 with the theme ‘Aqua’in connection with the International year of Artisanal fisheries and Aquaculture-2022. The occasion was graced by Mr. Venkata Ramana Bayireddy, Chief General Manager, State Bank of India, Thiruvanthapuram circle as chief guest. The guest of honour for the day was Mrs. Vigneshwari V. IAS Director of collegiate Education, Govt. of Kerala and Managing director, Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC). Our alumni Mr. Vignesh C. G., Scientist ISRO Bengaluru was invited as special guest.Various correspondents of sister schools and SBIOA Management committee members were among the invited guests. Mr. Paul D. Prabhakar, correspondent SBOA Public (Sr. Sec.) school, Ernkulamwelcomed the gathering. The evening commenced with the lighting of the lamp followed by the presentation of the annual report by Principal Mrs. Sreekala Karunakaran. The annual report highlighted the activities and achievements of the school which made all stakeholders feel proud about their school. Mr. P. Nallperumal Pillai, President SBIOA Educational Trust, Chennai presided over the meeting and Secretary and correspondent Dr. R. Balaji delivered the keynote address. Class 10 and 12 toppers of 2021-22 were honoured on the occasion. Best outgoing student 2023 was awarded to Ms Tejasree Praveen of std 12. The management honoured the staff who completed 10 and 20 years of service respectively at the institution. Teachers handling std 10 and 12 were also felicitated. The school magazine ‘Doris’ was released on the occasion. The programme concluded with variety entertainment programmes by the students.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

“Leaders are not born but are made by their experiences.” The Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2022-23 was held on 18 July 2022. Our Principal Mrs.Sreekala Karunakaran welcomed the gathering. The chief guest for the event was Mr. Sam Lesly, SI, Cheranellore Police Station. In his address, the Chief Guest Mr. Sam Lesly appreciated the efforts by the school for providing opportunities to the students to take part in various activities. He conferred the leaders with sashes and badges. Afterwards, the School President Bhadra S. Manu administered oath to the members of the cabinet. The cabinet members resolved to work for the welfare of the school. The programme concluded with Vote of thanks by the Vice President Pavan Krishna, followed by National Anthem

Interact Club of SBOA Ernakulam visited the old age home

Interact Club of SBOA Ernakulam visited the old age home on 29th Nov and donated 120 Kgs of rice and also spent some time with the elderly people!

SBOA's Kayakers' Feat... for a Clean, Green Environment.

Students of SBOA, South Chittoor had a feel good adventure cum awareness and cleaning drive kayaking down the Backwaters at Queen’s Walkway on November 21,2022. Shri Nagaraju CH IPS, City police Commissioner & IG inaugurated SBOA’s… Kayakers’FEAT which was held in collaboration with Cochin Paddle Club.  10 students and 7 teachers of the school under the able guidance of the rescue team comprising 8 members from CPC Kayaked for around one and a half hours and collected plastic waste left quite callously and thoughtlessly by US humans.  The pledge led by school correspondent Shri Paul D Prabhakar reminded us to live each day reminding ourselves of the promise of responsibility in using and disposing plastic.  The unveiling of the photo booth by Sec and correspondent SBIOA Educational trust Dr. R Balaji and the presence of President of the trust Shri Nallaperumal Pillai added value to a great venture. The principal Smt. Sreekala Karunakaran welcomed the gathering. Ahms Smt. Priya Menon and Smt Treasa T Biju, KG Superintendent Audrey Isaac were there motivating all the participants. All the teachers and the Students’ Council members and parents witnessed and cheered the cultural events that included a fancy dress of the endangered water species, a contemporary dance on the nature theme and a group song …
