MATHS WEEK

Maths Week was celebrated in our school with great enthusiasm and creativity. The programme highlighted the beauty of mathematics through various fun-filled and educational activities. Students presented a dance performance combining yoga postures and different angles, showing how maths is connected to movement and balance. A lively “Shape Song” helped younger students learn about geometric figures in an enjoyable way. The skit on probability conveyed mathematical ideas through real-life situations with humour and clarity. Another interesting presentation on the value of zero reminded everyone of the importance of this simple yet powerful number in mathematics. Overall, the celebration made learning maths enjoyable and meaningful for all.  .

VIDARUNNA MOTTUGAL

Our school proudly went on air through All India Radio FM 102.3 in the program “Vidaruna Mottukal.” The event featured a variety of performances — a heartwarming Hindi story, an entertaining Malayalam skit, a soulful poem, a lively Naadan Pattu, and a melodious English song. Our Kindergarten students added a special touch with their thoughtful conversation on reducing e-waste. Each performance reflected the creativity, confidence, and awareness of SBOA students, making the program a proud and memorable moment for the entire school community.

SBOA CARNIVAL 2025-26

The SBOA Carnival 2025-26, held on 18th October 2025, was a vibrant and exciting celebration that brought together 23 schools and over 360 enthusiastic participants from across the city. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Sajeev Balakrishnan, retired Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax and Limca Book of Records holder for the fastest caricaturist, whose presence added inspiration and artistic charm to the occasion. The carnival featured a wide range of competitions and cultural performances, giving students a platform to showcase their diverse talents. Each event reflected the values of teamwork, confidence and healthy competition. Rajagiri Christu Jayanthi Public School emerged as the overall champions, marking a proud and memorable conclusion to the festivities.

DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD PACKETS

Our school’s Interact Club, along with the Kindergarten section, organized a food distribution drive on 14th October 2025 in association with World Food Day. Around 40 food packets were distributed to the needy in and around Ernakulam. The initiative aimed to spread kindness and raise awareness about the importance of sharing. It showcased the school’s dedication to community service. This effort reflected our commitment to compassion and social responsibility.

DONATION OF OLD BOOKS

Our school took another step towards a sustainable future by collecting and donating 1,295 kg of old books for recycling. This initiative included contributions from both students and the school library. Each recycled page is a promise to protect our planet and reduce waste. By conserving resources, we help preserve the Earth’s green cover. Together, we move forward toward a cleaner and more sustainable tomorrow.

DONATION OF OLD FURNITURE

In a step toward a sustainable future, our Srishtizens donated old furniture to St. Mary’s School, South Chittoor. This thoughtful gesture promotes reuse and reduces unnecessary waste. It also encourages responsibility and mindful consumption among students. By supporting another school, we nurture community care and collaboration. Small acts like these help extend the life of valuable resources. Together, we learn that meaningful steps today can build a greener tomorrow.

PLOGATHON 2.0

Our school, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Cochin Mahanagar, organized Plogathon 2.0 on October 4, 2025—a marathon-style cleanliness drive aimed at promoting environmental awareness and social responsibility among students. The event, flagged off by MLA Shri T. J. Vinod and supported by Principal Mrs. Sonia Susan Varkey, witnessed enthusiastic participation from all high school students who engaged in plogging, combining jogging with litter collection, to spread the message “We are the ones who must create the change.” Teachers and members of the Rotary Club played an active role in coordinating the event, which successfully encouraged youth involvement in building a cleaner, greener Kochi.

SESSION ON GAMIFICATION

On 18th Sept 2025, a session was held by Mr. Vivek Cyril Joseph, Senior Product Manager, for the teachers of our school on the theme of Gamification. The teachers were divided into groups and engaged in a series of interactive activities that showcased the practical use of game elements in teaching. The session highlighted how Gamification can enhance student motivation and learning outcomes. Its hands-on approach allowed teachers to experience the effectiveness of these strategies firsthand.

FOOTBALL TRAINING SESSION BY MUTHOOT ACADEMY

A football training session was conducted in the school on 16th September 2025 to nurture young talent and promote interest in the sport. The programme focused on introducing the basics of football through engaging activities. Students of Classes IV and V participated with great enthusiasm, learning fundamental skills and techniques. The session proved to be both fun and educational, encouraging students to develop teamwork and a passion for the game.

CAREER GUIDANCE SESSION

A career guidance seminar on Design and Architecture was conducted in the school auditorium on Friday, 12th September 2025. The session was led by Ms. Julie James, Academic Director at afdindia with over 25 years of experience in design education, and Ms. Abhirami Krishnan, an Art Curator and Space Designer. The resource persons introduced students to the wide scope of careers in design and architecture while also mentoring them on preparation for top institutions. Students enthusiastically took part in a creative activity using circles and engaged in an interactive Q&A session about courses and career opportunities. The seminar proved to be highly insightful and inspiring for all participants.

MENSTRUAL HYGIENE

On 11th September 2025, a session was held for the girl students of classes VI, VII, VIII and IX on the topic “Menstrual Hygiene” from 9 AM to 10:30 AM. The session was led by Dr. Smitha Joy, HOD of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Lakeshore Hospital, Ernakulam and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Kochi Mahanagar. The session proved to be highly informative and empowering, helping the students gain valuable awareness about menstrual hygiene. It was indeed a meaningful initiative that left the students more confident and aware.

VISIT TO GOONJ

On 10th September 2025, a visit to Goonj, a renowned recycling and social initiative, was organized for 20 students of the school. The programme offered valuable insights into the organization’s mission, history, and its role in community development, education, health, and disaster relief. Students observed how donated materials are creatively transformed into useful and eco-friendly products such as cotton sanitary pads, files, and scrunchies. The experience highlighted the importance of sustainability and social responsibility, inspiring students to contribute actively to environmental and community welfare.

SESSION ON OCEANOGRAPHY

A special session on Oceanography was organized for the students of Class IX in the school auditorium. The resource person, Dr. M. R. Ramesh Kumar, Retired Chief Scientist of the National Institute of Oceanography, delivered an engaging and interactive talk that introduced students to the fascinating world of oceans. He also shared insights on Antarctica and its crucial role in regulating global climate and ocean systems. The visuals and interactive discussions made the session lively, memorable, and highly enriching for the students.

ONAM 2025

Our school celebrated Onam with great festive fervor and cultural spirit. The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by the Principal, Mrs. Sonia Susan, followed by the onam message by Mrs. Prameela P.V, Head of the Malayalam Department. The celebration was further graced by the presence of PTA representative, Mr. Premkumar, who conveyed his heartfelt wishes to the school community. The highlight of the event was the vibrant cultural programme, where students presented traditional dances, songs, and skits that showcased the rich heritage of Kerala. The performances brought alive the festive spirit and filled the campus with joy and togetherness. The celebration concluded on a note of happiness and cultural pride, reflecting the true essence of Onam.

SNEHAMBARAM 2025

The Eco Club of our school organized Snehambaram, a charitable initiative aimed at supporting the needy through the distribution of used clothes collected from various schools. The event was held at St. Anthony’s Church, Vaduthala Parish Hall. The program was inaugurated by Mr. Henry Austin, Councillor, Kochi Corporation, in the presence of the School Principal, Mrs. Sonia Susan. The initiative allowed the underprivileged to take clothes of their choice, symbolizing compassion, sharing, and social responsibility. The effort stood as a shining example of the school’s commitment to instilling values of empathy and charity among students.

INDEPENDENCE DAY 2025

The 79th Independence Day of our nation was celebrated on 15th August 2025 with great pride and enthusiasm. Shri T. J. Vinod, Hon’ble MLA of Ernakulam, was the Chief Guest of the occasion. He unfurled the National Flag, which was followed by the singing of the National Anthem, filling the campus with patriotic spirit. Principal Mrs. Sonia Susan addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of the day, reminding students of their duty to uphold the nation’s values. The programme also featured an impressive display by the school’s cadets and vibrant cultural performances by the students, showcasing their love for the country. The celebration concluded with a resounding tribute to the nation, instilling a sense of unity, pride, and responsibility among all present.

ENGLISH WEEK 2025

English Week was celebrated from July 14 – July 18 with great enthusiasm and creativity, providing students with a wonderful platform to explore the richness of the English language in fun and meaningful ways. The celebrations included a wide variety of literary and cultural activities. Students of Std. X presented insightful Book Reviews on various classics, whereas Std. XII students impressed the audience with a thought-provoking Debate on the topic “English: A Bridge or Barrier to Cultural Identity”. Std. IX performed an Idioms Song, while std VI came up with an energetic Rap on Poetic Devices. Students staged the humorous Skit “Cinderella Quits”, and the witty Skit “Language Hospital”. Poetry and performance blended beautifully in the Group Recitation of “The Road Not Taken”, while dance and music enlivened the stage with graceful performances by students of Std. VIII. Interactive competitions to encourage vocabulary and spelling proficiency kept students engaged and challenged. 

SOCIAL SCIENCE WEEK 2025

As part of Social Science Week from 11th August 2025 to 15th August 2025, the Social Science department conducted a series of engaging competitions and activities that encouraged students to explore history, culture, and communication skills while enhancing their confidence and creativity. These include a patriotic monologue competition for the students of class IX-XII, a declamation competition for classes III-V, and English Elocution and Patriotic Song Competition for classes VI-VIII. 

HIROSHIMA DAY 2025

In observance of Hiroshima Day, the students of our school organized a Peace Cycle Rally to promote the message of peace and social responsibility. The rally was flagged off by the Panchayat President, Mr. Rajesh, and Ward Member, Ms. Wincy Daries. Fifteen students from Classes 8 and 9 participated in the rally, which began from the school campus and concluded at Al Farook High School, Cheranellore. The students and staff of Al Farook warmly received the rally participants. As part of the awareness initiative, SBOA students also staged a powerful street play at Al Farook School, focusing on the harmful effects of drug abuse.

INTERACT CLUB INSTALLATION 2025

The Interact Club Installation Ceremony for the academic year 2025–26 was held on 5th August 2025 with great enthusiasm and pride. The chief guest for the event was Rtn. Henry Austin, accompanied by Rtn. Basil, President of the Rotary Club of Cochin North, Youth Leader Sreelal, Rtn. Arun, and Rtn. Ninan, who graced the occasion with their inspiring presence. The newly appointed Interact team took charge, pledging to uphold the values of leadership, service, and social responsibility. The school principal, Mrs. Susan, conveyed her heartfelt wishes to the team, encouraging them to take initiatives that bring meaningful change to society. The ceremony concluded with an interactive session and a message of empowerment for the youth.

CAMPUS CLEAN-UP DRIVE

Our students actively took part in a campus cleaning and greening drive, reflecting their dedication to environmental preservation. They worked together to clear dried leaves, ensuring the school grounds remained clean and welcoming. With equal care, they nurtured young saplings, recognizing their role in sustaining ecological balance. This initiative not only enhanced the beauty of the campus but also strengthened students’ sense of responsibility towards nature.

RED FM - KCL CANTER VAN

On August 2nd, the Kochi Blue Tigers’ promotional Canter Van made a spirited stop at SBOA Public School, Chitoor, as part of their KCL outreach tour. The team representatives introduced the students to the thrilling world of the Kerala Cricket League (KCL), sharing insights into the league’s format, history, and the dynamic Kochi Blue Tigers squad. Students were given a unique opportunity to engage with the event through a fun and interactive quiz that tested their knowledge about cricket and the team. The session was both informative and exciting, sparking enthusiasm among young cricket fans.

PLANTING OF SAPLINGS

Students took the lead in transforming our school into a greener haven by planting saplings and nurturing nature with love. As part of the Van Mahotsav celebrations, fruit saplings were planted on the school campus to provide shade and sweetness for future generations. Additionally, 100 neem saplings were distributed to students from classes 4 to 8, inspiring young minds to care for the environment. The initiative marked Nature Conservation Day with purposeful action, spreading awareness and fostering a deep love for greenery. Through these efforts, the school community embraced the spirit of environmental stewardship with pride and dedication.

DISTRIBUTING NATURAL MOSQUITO REPELLENTS

Our young changemakers took a proactive step towards community well-being through an innovative eco-action initiative. They prepared natural mosquito repellents using soap and tobacco, showcasing creativity and problem-solving skills. These repellents were then distributed to nearby homes, promoting both health and environmental consciousness. The activity demonstrated that even small actions by young minds can make a meaningful difference in society.

INTERNATIONAL TIGER DAY 2025

On 29th July, observed as International Tiger Day, our students enthusiastically engaged in a series of activities highlighting the importance of wildlife conservation. The programs included poster-making, tiger mask crafting, and the writing of thought-provoking essays, all centered on the theme of protecting tigers. Each activity provided an opportunity for students to showcase their creativity while gaining deeper insights into conservation challenges. These initiatives not only promoted awareness but also instilled a sense of responsibility towards safeguarding our planet’s majestic big cats. Through such meaningful efforts, our school continues to foster environmentally conscious and proactive young citizens.

INAUGURATION OF NEWLY RENOVATED LABS

The newly renovated Physics, Chemistry, and Biology labs were formally inaugurated on 16th July 2025, marking a significant upgrade in our science infrastructure. The ceremony was graced by Mr. A Senthil Ramesh, Secretary and Correspondent, and Mr. Praveen C, Correspondent. The upgraded labs are designed to foster hands-on learning and scientific exploration. Students and staff are excited to make full use of these enhanced facilities. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the management for their continued support in enriching our learning environment.

HONOURING EIGHT YEARS OF LEADERSHIP

On 10th July 2025, the students of our school organized a farewell ceremony for our beloved Principal Mrs. Sreekala Karunakaran, marking the end of eight years of dedicated service. The event featured heartfelt speeches by students, expressing gratitude and admiration for her leadership. As a gesture of respect, the class leader from each class presented a flower to the Principal. The atmosphere was filled with emotion, memories, and warm wishes. We extend our deepest thanks and best wishes to Sreekala ma’am for the journey ahead.

ECA INAUGURATION 2025

The Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) for the academic year was officially inaugurated at S.B.O.A. Public (Sr Sec) School , Ernakulam on Friday, 5th July at 9:30 AM in a vibrant ceremony held in the school premises. The event was graced by Mr. Sudarshan, Kerala’s first dance reality show fame, who served as the chief guest. A celebrated performer and a youth icon, Mr. Sudarshan inspired the students with his words and presence, emphasizing the importance of extracurricular pursuits alongside academics. The program began with a warm welcome address, followed by a captivating variety entertainment program. The Principal addressed the gathering, highlighting the school’s commitment to fostering holistic development through a variety of ECA clubs and activities.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2025

The Investiture Ceremony was held on 3rd July 2025 to formally badge the newly elected captains of Std V and XI. The event marked the beginning of a new chapter of leadership and responsibility for the student leaders. Shri Reji P, Sub Inspector, North Police Station, was the Chief Guest and honoured the captains with their badges. In his address, he commended the young leaders and urged them to uphold values of discipline, service, and integrity. The ceremony instilled a sense of pride and commitment among the newly appointed student council members.

FELICITATION OF BOARD TOPPERS 2025

On 1st July 2025, a felicitation ceremony was held to honour the top three achievers of the Class X and XII Board Examinations. The event celebrated academic excellence and recognized the students’ outstanding performance and dedication. Shri. Praveen C, Correspondent, graced the occasion and presented trophies to the meritorious students. The gathering applauded the hard work and perseverance of the awardees. The ceremony concluded on a note of inspiration, encouraging all students to strive for excellence.

 
 

WORLD ANTI DRUG ABUSE DAY 2025

World Anti Drug Abuse Day was observed in our School on 26th June with a pledge to stay away from drugs, a mime depicting the harmful effects of drug addiction, and a sticky note wall where every student of Std V to XII wrote messages against drug abuse. All these programs sent a strong message to our children to ‘Say No to drugs and Say Yes to life’. .

YOGA DAY 2025

Yoga Day was celebrated on the 21st of June 2025. As part of the same, the NCC cadets and Yoga club students performed Yoga demonstrations. Various competitions were organized for different categories and prizes were distributed.

FRESHER'S DAY 2025-26

The Freshers’ Day for Std XI 2025-26, held on the 9th of June, was organized by the students of Std XII with great enthusiasm to welcome the new batch of students into the institution. Various cultural progarms, including dance and music, as well as games, were organized to help freshers feel comfortable and build friendship with their peers and seniors.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2025-26

SBOA Public (sr sec)School celebrated World Environment Day on June 5, 2025, with great enthusiasm. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of protecting our environment. Dr M.K.Sajeevan,  Fisheries resource management(FRM) head of the department CMFRI graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and addressed the gathering with an inspiring message. He encouraged the students to adopt sustainable practices in daily life. A sapling plantation drive was conducted, where parents and students planted trees together in the school campus. An oath for a safer and greener environment was taken by all participants. The program fostered a sense of responsibility and commitment towards nature. SBOA Public (sr sec)School continues to promote eco-conscious values through such meaningful initiatives.

SPORTS DAY

SBOA Public (Sr. Sec.) School, South Chittoor, Ernakulam, celebrated its Annual Sports Dayon January 10, 2025, at the school ground. Shri. John of Matha, former National Badminton player, graced the event as the Chief Guest. The day featured exciting sports events, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship among students. The presence of dignitaries from SBIOA Educational Trust, Chennai, added grandeur to the occasion The March Past, KG display, NCC display, and yoga performance were particularly outstanding. SCIENCE WEEK

This year’s Science Week( 21 ST October – 25 th October)was an engaging and
educational experience for students, teachers, and science enthusiasts. With a range of
activities aimed at sparking curiosity and developing scientific skills, participants
explored various fields in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

GREEN WAVE EXPO -Students presented projects on topics on sustainable
development . Students presented a skit on Cell heroes – The power surge. Activities
also included demonstrations of experiments, talk on madam Curie and mole day,
Dance related to theme nature and Song of Halogens. These event allowed them to
showcase their creativity and understanding of scientific principles Science Week was a
successful event, sparking excitement and curiosity about science in participants of all
ages.

MATHS FESTIVAL

 

Our school organised a Maths festival named ‘Mathikrithi’, where students demonstrated their mathematical skills and creativity through fun activities and games. The event catered to students from KG to grade 12, with concept rooms linked to games that reinforced learning. Around 500 students from various schools benefited from the festival, which promoted mathematical excellence, creativity and problem solving. Mrs. Elsey Babu, retired Vice Principal of Navy Children School, inaugrated the event. Correspondent Mr. C Praveen, Principal Mrs. Sreekala Karunakaran, HM Mrs. Priya Menon, and AHM Mrs. Tresa T Biju graced the occassion.

URBAN SKETCHERS' MEET

On November 17, 2024, SBOA Public Sr. Sec. School had the privilege of hosting the 104th meet of the Urban Sketchers. This unique gathering brought together talented artists who showcased a wide array of styles, mediums, and perspectives, beautifully capturing various angles of our campus. It was an inspiring experience to witness the vibrant tapestry of our school come alive through their creative interpretations. Urban Sketchers generously donated their artworks to our school. The meet was a truly enriching experience, particularly for our students, who learned immensely from the visiting artists.

CHILDREN'S DAY

SBOA Public (Sr. Sec) School, South Chittoor, Ernakulam, celebrated Children’s Day with great enthusiasm on November 14, 2024. The Chief Guest for the day, renowned film actress Nayana Elsa inaugurated the children’s day and felicitated the students during the prize distribution ceremony. The program also featured heartfelt speeches by students sharing their experiences at the school. The highlight of the celebration was the vibrant cultural performances by students, including captivating dance shows that left the audience spellbound.

KERALA PIRAVI

The Kerala Piravi celebrations honoured the state’s rich heritage and traditions. Students, both boys and girls, stole the show by portraying Kerala’s iconic characters, showcasing their talent with magnificent performances and vibrant costumes. The grandeur of their presentations evoked a sense of pride in being born in God’s Own Country, while honoring the deep-rooted culture and traditions. The event was a resounding success by the language department, who orchestrated the grand show.

ONAM CELEBRATION

Onam was celebrated on the 13th of September 2024, with the events scaled down owing to the Wayanad tragedy. Aaron of Std VIII and Arnav of Std V, the Mahabali’s of SBOA, visited the little ones on this special occasion and made their day. Malayali Manga and Sriman competitions were held for the students of Std XII, with three rounds of innovative challenges. Maria Siju and Sivasankar P. S were selected as the Malayali Manga and Sriman respectively. A beautiful Onam song was rendered by the talented little buds.

TEACHER'S DAY

Teacher’s Day was celebrated on the 5th of September 2024 to honour the persistent efforts put in by our teachers. Dr. Rekha P. G, Assistant Professor and Head of Department, PG and Research, at The Cochin College, Kochi was the Chief Guest for the day. The Teacher of the Year awards were bestowed on Mrs. Sheeba R in the PGT category, Mrs. Prameela P V in the TGT Category and Mrs. Jincy K John in the JSG category. Various teams were congratulated and honoured for organizing different outreach programs in the past 1 year. This was followed by the cultural programs put forward by the teachers.

CULTURAL EXCHANGE

On behalf of Kerala-Chhattisgarh Cultural Exchange Program, a quiz competition was conducted on the 23rd of August 2024 with the students of Sri Sankara Vidyalaya Bhilai , Chhattisgarh, and the quizmasters being Adithi P Dinesh, Angelina Shel and Sriram B. The quiz included 6 rounds, covering history, politics, geography,  literature, art and culture and important places and monument. Also, 5 teams from SBOA participated in the quiz conducted by Sri Sankara Vidyalaya.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

Independence Day was celebrated on the 15th of August 2024, with Retired  Major MGC Nair presiding over the ceremony as the Chief Guest. Prize winners of various competitions conducted on behalf of the occasion were awarded. The cultural events included Display by the NCC cadets, a skit portraying Rani Lakshmibhai’s story, a beautiful dance and a melodious song. Independence day sweets were distributed to the children afterwards.

ENGLISH FAIR

Wordsmiths in Action: A Showcase of Talent at S.B.O.A Public (Sr. Sec.) School Ernakulam 
 
S.B.O.A Public (Sr. Sec.) School Ernakulam , hosted an engaging English Fair, showcasing the language skills of students from Grades 1 to 5. The event featured performances based on lessons from their textbooks, including captivating skits, expressive recitations, and insightful speeches. Students also participated in grammar-based activities, demonstrating their understanding of language concepts. Parents were invited to witness the event, which highlighted the creative and academic talents of the young learners. The fair was a delightful celebration of English language learning, fostering both confidence and enthusiasm among the students.

ECO CLUB ACTIVITY

S.B.O.A Public (Sr. Sec.) Ernakulam School joined the #Plant4Mother initiative under the ambit of Ministry of Education, Govt of India, aiming to plant 5 crore trees across India. In a heartwarming event led by the school’s Eco club, mothers and children planted trees together. The Principal emphasized the importance of environmental stewardship and nurturing family bonds. The initiative seeks to strengthen the bond between students and their mothers and Mother Earth.

KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS CELEBRATION

On July 26th, our school commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas, a day of national pride and remembrance, with a vibrant and poignant dance performance by the students of Class 9. This day marks the victory of the Indian armed forces in the Kargil conflict of 1999, and our students paid a heartfelt tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers.

INVESTITURE 2024-25

On July 17, 2024 the investiture ceremony at SBOA Ernakulam was graced by Chief Guest Shri Sabu K. K., Sub Inspector of Police, Cheranalloor, along with Correspondent Shri Praveen C. and Principal Smt. Sreekala Karunakaran. The chief guest conferred badges to student council members, who then took an oath of office. Shri Sabu K. K. emphasized discipline and service, inspiring the new leaders. The ceremony concluded with the national anthem.

DEBATER'S DEN 2024-25

The debate club of SBOA ‘Debaters Den ‘ was inaugurated on 10th July 2024 in the presence of Mrs Sreekala Karunakaran, the principal, Mrs Priya Menon ,the HM and Mrs Tressa T Biju , the AHM. The debate club was inaugurated with the unveiling of the logo by the principal, followed by the inaugural address by her. The teacher coordinator Seema Benedict addressed the gathering and introduced the concept of a debate.The student coordinators M. Dhanshika and Rudra Raj, The president of the club Jemy Maria Prem and the Vice president Y. Pranathi were congratulated by the principal for their efficient initiative and leadership.
The inaugural debate on the topic “Beauty Vs Virtue:Appearance is more influential than character” enthralled the audience. The proposition consisted of 3 debaters- Rudra Raj, Harsh S Antony and Adwaith. The opposition consisted of 3 debaters- M . Dhansika, Jemy Maria Prem and Isha and Mrs. Jincy Stephan and Mrs. Rithu B Varghese were the Jury of the day.

PRIDE MONTH 2024-25

On July 9TH , 2024 SBOA embarks on a journey to explore the lives and struggles of marginalized genders.In a heartwarming display of inclusivity and education, students at SBOA Ekm tread ‘The road not taken.’Highlighting the event was a memorable interaction with Shruthy Sithara, renowned LGBTQ+ activist and Miss Trans Global winner, who graciously fielded numerous questions from the students. Her patient explanations and insights left a profound impact, resonating with both faculty and students alike.As the school continues to champion inclusivity, this initiative stands as a testament to the transformative power of education in nurturing understanding and empathy for all.

SALAD DAY 2024-25

Budding chefs shine  at Salad Day Event !

 On bagless day 29th of June 2024 , classes VI to VIII paticipated in a vibrant  Salad Day. Students showcase and varity of colorful , nutritious , and tasty salads.Working in team, they cut vegetables and mixed ingredients, presented their creations, and share them with peers. it was a day filling with budding chefs honing their culinary skills.

ABHINANDANAM (MERIT AWARDS) 2024-25

SBOA Public (Sr. Sec) in Ernakulam hosted ABHINANDANAM, a merit day celebrating the CBSE SSE (X) and SSCE (XII) toppers of the Kochi Sahodaya School Complex on June 29, 2024. Renowned cine actor Shri. Sajan Pallurthy graced the occasion as the chief guest. Student toppers from 51 schools across the city were honored with trophies and certificates by him. His insightful and humorous poetic speech captivated and engaged the audience. Mrs. Rajalakshmi G.G, Secretary of Kochi Sahodaya, warmly welcomed the gathering. Shri. Aravind K Lakshman, President of Kochi Sahodaya, delivered an inspiring presidential address, and Smt. Sreekala Karunakaran, Joint Secretary, concluded with a gracious Vote of Thanks. Principals, teachers, and parents came together to support and encourage their talented students.

ECA INAUGURATION 2024-25

 On  28th June 2024 SBOA Public Senior Secondary School inaugurated its ECA program with promising actress Ms. Aardra V Menon as the chief guest. Principal Smt Sreekala Karunakaran welcomed the gathering, and PTA President Shri Premkumar delivered a felicitation. The chief guest highlighted the importance of balancing academics and hobbies, inspiring students with her journey. The event showcased diverse talents, marking a promising start to the year.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 2024-25

International Yoga day was celebrated in SBOA Public Sr.Sec School on 21st June. Students did Yoga in their classes under the guidance of NCC and Yoga club students. The NCC and Yoga club students did a YOGA demonstration in the Ruby Jubilee hall in the presence of Std V students. Winners of Yoga competition that was conducted yesterday were given prizes during the program. The NCC cadets participated in a poster making competition in connection with International Yoga day.

NATIONAL READING DAY 2024-25

The National Reading Day celebrations at SBOA Public Sr. Sec. School were marked by enthusiasm and literary activities on June 19th and 20th. Day 1 featured a special assembly with a book review, quiz, and song, followed by an extempore competition for 8th and 9th graders, where Giya Jithin(VIII), Silviya Merrin(VIII), and Pranav K P(IX) emerged as winners. The book binding contest saw Sidharth, Adwaith, and Gagana from Class VII B, Natasha, Tanusree, and Gayathri from Class (IX B), and Sinsha, Nivedhya, and Abigail from Class 9C winning accolades. Day 2 focused on storytelling for Grades 1 to 5, with Durga R Marar (2A) and Hemil (2B) winning in Category 1, and Aarav Jithin (4B) and Abhinav Krishna (5A) winning in Category 2. The celebrations underscored the joy of reading and storytelling, fostering creativity and a love for literature among students.  Happy Reading Day!

FRESHERS DAY 2024-25

The 12th standard students put up a fun filled fresher’s day for the new batch of std XI on 5th June 2024.The program began with the prayer followed by addresses by the principal Smt. Sreekala Karunakaran, Head Mistress Priya Menon and Assistant Head Mistress Treasa T. Biju. 6 students who were new to SBOA family introduced themselves.
Then followed a few innovative games to break the Ice and mark the beginning of the challenging Higher Secondary life.
 

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2024-25

SBOA Public (Sr. Sec.)School, Ernakulam celebrated Environment Day with great enthusiasm, engaging in various eco-friendly activities. The principal Smt. Sreekala Karunakaran led the way by planting five saplings in the school compound. Students brought potted flowering plants and shared insights about them. Overall, approximately 100 flowering plants were planted. The event underscored the importance of environmental conservation, with students taking a pledge to adopt sustainable practices.

SBOA Sports Academy Wraps Up Summer Camp with Tinu Yohannan on 20th April 2024!

The SBOA Sports Academy concluded its summer sports camp with an inspiring valedictory function. Former Indian cricketer Tinu Yohannan interacted with the young athletes, sharing valuable insights and emphasizing the importance of passion and dedication in sports. Correspondent Shri Paul D Prabhakar, SBOA Public (Sr. Sec.) School, Ernakulam presided over the event. The event celebrated the progress of participants and awarded prizes to outstanding performers. SBOA Sports Academy continues to nurture talent and instill values of sportsmanship in its students.
